Land O' Lakes had lost four games on the road dating back to last season, but after bumping their record up to 3-3 on Friday that streak is in the rearview. They strolled past the Fivay Falcons with points to spare, taking the game 78-61. That's more bragging rights for the Gators, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
As for Fivay, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season. Even though they lost, their still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 50.3 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Several Falcons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Joell Morales, who shot 47% from the field on his way to 19 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds. Thanks to that strong game, Morales now owns an excellent 44.4% three-point shooting accuracy. Trevon Larry was another key player, dropping a double-double with 11 points and ten boards.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Land O' Lakes will square off against Zephyrhills at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Fivay, they will face off against River Ridge at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
