Emmaus has won three straight games at home, while Whitehall has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Hornets will host the Zephyrs at 4:00 p.m. Emmaus' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Whitehall's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Emmaus' pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Louis E. Dieruff with a sharp 10-0 victory. The Hornets haven't had any issues with the Huskies recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Robert Barnes made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Emmaus is 6-3 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 4-5 otherwise. Barnes was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Tanner Karwacki and Josh Diaz did most of the damage at the plate: Karwacki went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run, while Diaz went 2-for-3 with two triples, one run, and one RBI. Those two triples gave Diaz a new career-high. Zach Ehritz was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one triple and two RBI.
Emmaus hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Louis E. Dieruff struck out seven times.
Meanwhile, Whitehall beat Allentown Central Catholic 6-1 on Tuesday.
Tyler Reichenbach was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Henry Shultz, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Whitehall has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.2 runs over those games. As for Emmaus, their win bumped their record up to 10-8.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Emmaus has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Whitehall struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
