Angel Hipolito Crosses Big Stat Threshold
On Saturday, Virginia City got the W thanks in part to Angel Hipolito playing the best football he has all season. Hipolito rushed for 333 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 10.4 yards per carry. Thanks to that strong showing, he's now averaging 2.2 rushing touchdowns per game. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in October of 2023.
Mineral County had to have seen this coming; the last time they saw Hipolito it was a similar story. Back in September of 2023 (the last time Hipolito saw the Serpents), he rushed for 162 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.1 yards per carry, and also caught a touchdown.

Mineral County Gets a Boost from Reeves in 48-27 Defeat
Chase Reeves posted a new career-high in rushing yards on Saturday. He rushed for 146 yards on only 11 carries, and also threw for 108 yards and three touchdowns. He is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last five games he's played dating back to last season.
Unfortunately for Virginia City, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Reeves. Reeves rushed for 125 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries, and also threw for 117 yards on five of 24 attempts the last time he and the Muckers duked it out back in September of 2023.

Andrew Stinson Turns in Season-Best Effort
Sadly, Andrew Stinson posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Mineral County over Virginia City on Saturday. Stinson picked up 95 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
On the year, Stinson has caught 9 touchdowns while averaging 82.3 receiving yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after six games last season, he was only averaging 0.83 receiving yards per game.

Owyhee's Losing Streak Is No More Thanks to Ben Blossom
Ben Blossom helped snap Owyhee's seven-game losing streak dating back to last season. Blossom threw for 45 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground, good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long.
Owyhee's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. Blossom and Owyhee will face off against Wells at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Big Game from Johnson As Owyhee Won 28-12
Thanks in part to Noah Johnson, Owyhee said goodbye to their seven-game losing streak dating back to last season. McDermitt had no answer to Johnson on Saturday as he rushed for 82 yards on only five carries, and also picked up 39 receiving yards.
Johnson and Owyhee will face off against Wells at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The game will pit Johnson up against the Leopards' star pass catcher Cesar Berumen. The only thing left to do is find out who's the greater deep ball threat. You'll have to watch the game to know for sure.
