Gardiner is 1-6 against Cony since October of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Gardiner Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Cony Rams at 7:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Maine (Gardiner is ranked 35th, while Cony is ranked 24th).
Last Friday, Gardiner came up short against Skowhegan and fell 22-14. It was the first time this season that Gardiner let down their fans at home.
Meanwhile, Cony had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came out on top against Falmouth by a score of 31-22.
Cony's win bumped their season record to 5-3 while Gardiner's defeat dropped theirs to 4-3.
Gardiner lost to Cony on the road by a decisive 27-12 margin when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Can Gardiner avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
