After a string of four wins, the Middleton Tigers's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of Fayette Ware by a score of 56-53. Middleton has not had much luck with Fayette Ware recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Middleton's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Harmony Bell, who scored 21 points along with 3 steals. Bell scored a full 39.6% of Middleton's points, the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Kemora Buggs, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Fayette Ware was led to victory by Markala Terry and Ke'Miyah Buggs. Terry scored 19 points, while Buggs scored 27 points. The game was Buggs' sixth in a row with at least ten points.
Middleton's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Fayette Ware, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.
Middleton will play host again and welcome Adamsville, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Adamsville is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games. As for Fayette Ware, they will take on Westview at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
