After a string of three wins, the Middle Tennessee Christian Cougars's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell to Franklin Road Academy 54-50. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Middle Tennessee Christian of the 37-36 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Anna clay Shirley, who scored 22 points. Shirley hasn't dropped below 15 points for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Graham, who scored 15 points.
Middle Tennessee Christian's loss dropped their record down to 13-12. As for Franklin Road Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.
Middle Tennessee Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 59-54 victory vs. Grace Christian Academy on the 10th. Franklin Road Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
