Maranatha Baptist can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent contest on January 5th. They breezed by Waukesha Christian Academy on the road to the tune of 74-36. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Maranatha Baptist has managed all season.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Rock County Christian beat Early View Academy of Excellence 58-52 on Friday.
Tony Thompson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 18 rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Derek Quinn, who scored nine points.
Maranatha Baptist pushed their record up to 7-1 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.5 points per game. As for Rock County Christian, their win bumped their record up to 14-2.
Maranatha Baptist was able to grind out a solid victory over Rock County Christian in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, winning 62-51. The rematch might be a little tougher for Maranatha Baptist since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
