Orange will head into Thursday's matchup hoping to keep the good times rolling: they proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 22) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Person 67-65.
It was another big night for Xandrell Pennix, who posted 19 points and five steals. He is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Kai Wade, who put up seven points along with seven assists and five boards.

Meanwhile, Southern Alamance unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They came up short against Person, falling 70-47. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 467th, while the Rockets are ranked 47th).
Orange will have to contain Brandyn Gonzalez as he made an impact in Southern Alamance's last game. He went 5 of 11 on his way to 17 points and five rebounds. Gonzalez is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Eli Gilley, who had six points.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Orange has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 32.9 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Southern Alamance struggles in that department as they've been averaging 32.9 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Everything came up roses for Orange against Southern Alamance when the teams last played back in February of 2024, as the team secured a 93-39 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Orange since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
