The Rye Thunderbolts's six-game losing streak dating back to last season came to an end on Tuesday. They secured a 36-31 W over Florence. That looming 36-31 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Rye yet this season.
Rye found their leader in underclassman Taci Ehrlich, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and six steals. Those six steals set a new season-high mark for her.
Rye's win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-3. As for Florence, they bumped their record down to 0-5 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rye will be home for the holidays to greet Woodland Park at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Florence, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Dolores Huerta Prep at 5:00 p.m. on December 14th. Hopefully Dolores Huerta Prep focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 last Thursday.
