After flying high against Exeter  last Friday, Porterville came back down to earth. The Panthers fell just short of the Redwood Rangers by a score of  42-40 on Friday. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Rangers recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

 Loss or not, Porterville got some senior leadership from  Mark Salinas and  Ethan Enriquez.  Salinas gained 168 total yards and two touchdowns, while  Enriquez threw for 258 yards and four  touchdowns while completing 72.5% of his passes. Enriquez is  on a roll when it comes to  passing touchdowns, as he's  now  passed for three or more in each of the last four games he's  played. A healthy portion of  Enriquez's aerial production (81 yards to be exact)  went to  Aeris Acoba, who also brought in a  receiving touchdown.
  Jimmie Burk continued  his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Redwood, rushing for 190 yards and three  scores on only ten carries.  Jairus Brooks was another key player, picking up 115 receiving yards and one  TD.
Porterville's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Redwood, the  win was  the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-2.
 Coming up, Porterville will square off against Golden West at 7:30  p.m.  on Friday. As for Redwood, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Monache  at 7:30  p.m.  on Friday. The Rangers will need to watch out since the Marauders have now posted at least 31  points  in their last five contests.
