This season hasn't been kind to the Columbia Capitals, who are still winless after their 11th game. They were dealt a 57-13 defeat at the hands of Clinton on Monday. While losing is never fun, Columbia can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 270th, while Clinton is ranked 70th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Clinton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ry'Daijia Mars, who scored 11 points along with four steals. Zakalia Redd was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five steals.
Columbia bumped their record down to 0-11 with that loss, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Clinton, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Columbia will face off against Strom Thurmond at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Clinton, they will head out on the road to face off against Woodruff at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
