The Williams Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Person Rockets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Williams will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Williams can now show off three landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Cedar Ridge 49-7 at home. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 42-0.
Williams' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dan Mahan, who threw for 152 yards and four touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes, and also punched in a rushing score. Haneef Rasheed II was in the mix too, providing Williams with two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought match, but Person had to settle for a 21-19 defeat against Western Alamance on Friday. Person has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Williams' win was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.3 points per game. As for Person, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season.
Everything went Williams' way against Person when the teams last played back in October of 2022 as Williams made off with a 54-32 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Person's Julian Crawley, who picked up 182 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be that much easier for Williams to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
