Greenback always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .551. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Oakdale strolled into their game on Tuesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They put the hurt on Rockwood with a sharp 16-1 victory. Considering the Eagles have won eight contests by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Rhylan Hicks was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.
In other batting news, Oakdale got a massive performance out of Hadassah Cooney, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Cooney is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played. Landry Smith was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Oakdale's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-0. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Greenback, their win bumped their record up to 4-6.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Greenback hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .319. However, it's not like Oakdale struggles in that department as they've averaged .350. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
