Calvary Chapel Academy took a 41-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cougars. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Calvary Chapel Academy in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now lost six in a row.
Calvary Chapel Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ryan Adema, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaleb Steiger, who scored nine points along with four blocks.
Merritt Island Christian found their leader in underclassman Connor Angstadt, who scored 19 points along with three steals. Angstadt hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Carter Stevenson was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with three steals.
Calvary Chapel Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Merritt Island Christian, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-7.
Calvary Chapel Academy and the Falcons will face off at 5:30 p.m. on January 25th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
