The Liberty County Bulldogs won the last time they faced the St. John Paul II Panthers, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Liberty County walked away with a 32-22 win over St. John Paul II. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Liberty County.
Liberty County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Caleigh Peddie, who scored 15 points. The matchup was Peddie's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabriella Flowers, who scored nine points.
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ashlyn Naumann, who scored five points along with five rebounds and four steals. Blakely Naumann was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Liberty County has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. As for St. John Paul II, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.
Liberty County won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Wakulla at 4:00 p.m. on December 13th. Hopefully Wakulla focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Tuesday. As for St. John Paul II, they will head out on the road to face off against Jefferson County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Jefferson County comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 18 points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
