Show Low is 1-9 against Winslow since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Show Low Cougars will head out on the road to square off against the Winslow Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. Show Low will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
Last Tuesday, Show Low faced Blue Ridge in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Show Low took down Blue Ridge 46-31.
It was another big night for Raquel Wilson, who scored 13 points along with six steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 13 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Mikenzie Kulish, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Winslow's six-game losing streak came to an end on Tuesday. They came out on top against Payson by a score of 45-36.
Show Low pushed their record up to 22-1 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points per game. As for Winslow, their win bumped their record up to 5-14.
Show Low won a game that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in February of 2023, slipping by Winslow 45-44. The rematch might be a little tougher for Show Low since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
