Pocket recap November 13, 2013
Gibson Southern added to the longest winning streak in Pocket this week by beating Evansville Bosse, 39-35. The victory was the 12th in a row for the team.
Southridge scaled the state rankings by moving to 51 from 81 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Raiders were able to move up by beating Evansville Mater Dei 21-19.
Southridge's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. LUKE STETTER threw for 26 yards and CONNOR CRAIG had 26 yards receiving. On the ground CRAIG contributed 126 yards.
Scott Buening's team's dynamic duo of STETTER and CRAIG proved to be unstoppable against the Wildcats, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
CRAIG provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Raiders defeated Evansville Mater Dei. CRAIG's key target this week was CRAIG, who caught 3 passes for 26 yards.
Gibson Southern's Nick Sellers and Griffin Scheller led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-11 quarterback Sellers has thrown for 2,254 yards this season, while Scheller has 24 catches for 688 yards. Elliott Brown from Tell City leads the league in rushing with 1,906 yards.
Southridge and Mike Goebel's team played the closest game in Pocket this week, with Southridge eventually emerging with a 21-19 victory. CRAIG ran for 126 yards in the win.
