Baseball Recap: Bishop Gorman Takes a Loss

If Bishop Gorman was feeling good fresh off their 19-1 takedown of New Summerfield on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bishop Gorman Crusaders fell just short of the Big Sandy Wildcats by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. The Crusaders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2019.

Raef Mooney made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole three bases while getting on base in both of his plate appearances. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now stole at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Bishop Gorman's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Big Sandy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bishop Gorman will take on Cross Roads at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cross Roads will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Bishop Gorman surely won't give up without a fight. Big Sandy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Hawkins at 6:00 p.m. on March 11th.
