The Lake Buena Vista Vipers will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Timber Creek Wolves at 7:30 p.m. Lake Buena Vista is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
Last Tuesday, Lake Buena Vista lost to Gateway at home by a decisive 62-47 margin.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Bryan Mwangovya, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and two steals. He has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last 11 times he's played. Travis Ligene was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven assists.
Timber Creek posted their closest win yet this season on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 62-59 win over Freedom. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Dontae Verderber was the offensive standout of the contest as he dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Joshua Perry, who scored ten points.
Lake Buena Vista's defeat dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Timber Creek, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-11 record this season.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Lake Buena Vista hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 52.8 points per game. It's a different story for Timber Creek, though, as they've been averaging only 47.8 points per game. The only thing between Lake Buena Vista and another offensive beatdown is Timber Creek.
