Ell-Saline moved up to 65 from 101 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Heart of America. The Cardinals were able to make the jump by beating Plainville 22-0.
Marion took down Sunrise Christian Academy 55-10 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Logan Thompson provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Sedgwick beat Trinity. He completed six passes for 69 yards and also ran for 185 yards. Thompson's favorite target this week was Nic Johnson, who caught five passes for 55 yards.
Josh Miller made the biggest impact on defense this week as Inman bested Medicine Lodge. The 5-foot-7 senior pulled down one interception, forced one fumble and recorded one fumble.
Christian Christenson was the best wideout in the league this week as the Celtics fell to the Cardinals. Christenson racked up two receptions for 82 yards.
Garrett Walker put up the best numbers through the air as Ell-Saline topped the Cardinals. He finished with seven completions for 141 yards and two touchdowns. Walker's favorite target this week was Kaleb Whitehair, who caught three passes for 59 yards.
Sedgwick's Brylie Ware and Thompson have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Ware has thrown for 1104 yards this season, while Thompson, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has 22 catches for 461 yards. Miller from the Inman Teutons leads the league in rushing with 875 yards.
A big matchup in Heart of America this week will be when Jeff Werner's team takes on Moundridge. The Cardinals are in first place, while the Wildcats are in seventh place.
Terry King's team made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 4,024 from 6,377. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 22-0 victory over Plainville last week.
