Even though the Blooming Grove Lions scored an imposing 61 points on Tuesday, the Apple Springs Eagles still came out on top. Apple Springs narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Blooming Grove 63-61.
Apple Springs' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dakota Campbell, who scored 13 points along with 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Zeth Dugat was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
The win got Apple Springs back to even at 1-1. As for Blooming Grove, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Apple Springs will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Non Varsity Tournament Opponent at 4:45 p.m. As for Blooming Grove, they will head out on the road to face off against Hubbard at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hubbard will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
