The World of Inquiry Griffins pushed their score all the way to 63 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Canandaigua Academy 67-63. While losing is never fun, World of Inquiry can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 482nd, while Canandaigua Academy is ranked 220th).
Despite the loss, World of Inquiry still got an impressive performance from Jaedon Adams, who scored 32 points. The matchup was Adams' sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Deandre Leonard , who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds.
World of Inquiry has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season. As for Canandaigua Academy, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-1.
World of Inquiry will be playing in front of their home fans against Early College at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Canandaigua Academy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Pittsford at 7:15 p.m. on January 12, 2024.
