The Richwood Lumberjacks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight defeat. Their rough 58-35 defeat to Bath County might stick with them for a while. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Richwood came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 123rd in West Virginia, while the Chargers are ranked 375th in Virginia).
When it comes to explaining why Richwood lost, one person who can't be blamed is Grant Russell. Despite the final result, he scored 13 points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bath County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Luke Turner, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Turner has scored all season. Issac Ingram was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 20 rebounds.
Richwood's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Bath County, the win got them back to even at 8-8.
