You can't lose the match if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Fuchs Mizrachi's strategy against Denver Academy of Torah two weeks ago. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Fuchs Mizrachi blew Denver Academy of Torah out of the water with a 78-20 final score. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 48-9.
Meanwhile, Grand River Academy got the win against Horizon Science Academy on Wednesday by a conclusive 67-47. Given Grand River Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 260th, while Horizon Science Academy is ranked 795th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Filip Runjo went supernova for Grand River Academy, almost dropping a double-double on 22 points and nine rebounds. Runjo is crushing the point category: he's posted at least 18 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Quartey, who scored 12 points along with eight assists and four steals.
Fuchs Mizrachi's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Grand River Academy, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-1.
Fuchs Mizrachi skirted past Grand River Academy 57-54 in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. Will Fuchs Mizrachi repeat their success, or does Grand River Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
