The Northfield Nighthawks will head out to take on the Arvada West Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Northfield is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 65.7 points per game this season.
Northfield saw some tournament action on Friday. They fell 81-68 to George Washington. The Nighthawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Northfield got top-tier performance from Judah Michael, who posted 15 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. Michael is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last five games he's played. Daizhon Walker was another key player, putting up 12 points.
Even though they lost, Northfield smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in six consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Arvada West faced Ralston Valley in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. Arvada West came up short against Ralston Valley, falling 67-47. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Wildcats have suffered against the Mustangs since January 26, 2022.
Northfield will need to focus on slowing down Jordan Stremel, one of several Arvada West players who made an impact when they last played. He scored nine points and six boards. Another player making a difference was Keegen Balistreri, who put up ten points and seven rebounds.
Northfield's loss dropped their record down to 13-10. As for Arvada West, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-6.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Northfield has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 28.7 boards per game. However, it's not like Arvada West struggles in that department as they've been averaging 32.3 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Northfield came up short against Arvada West when the teams last played back in December of 2022, falling 68-57. Thankfully for Northfield, Jasper Padia (who en route to 25 points and five boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
