The William Floyd Colonials stacked a seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 59-27 victory over Riverhead on the road. The victory was nothing new for William Floyd as they're now sitting on nine straight.
Kayla Gilmore was her usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with six steals and five assists. Gilmore is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Kayden Meyer was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
William Floyd's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points per game. As for Riverhead, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
William Floyd will head out on the road to take on Longwood at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Longwood comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Riverhead will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Walt Whitman at 6:15 p.m. on February 14th.
