The Nebraska Christian Eagles can finally bid farewell to their 13-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Riverside 52-50. For Nebraska Christian, this counts as revenge for the 48-39 loss the Chargers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.
It was another big night for Micah Perdew, who scored 24 points. That makes it 13 consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Nebraska Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Oliver Herman, who scored 14 points along with eight assists and seven rebounds.
Riverside lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Dane Schalk, who scored 15 points. Drew Carraher was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Nebraska Christian's win ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-14. As for Riverside, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-7.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Burwell the next time they take the court. Nebraska Christian will host the Longhorns at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, while the Chargers will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
