Baseball Game Preview: Heritage Christian Eagles vs. Purdue Polytechnic Techies

The Heritage Christian Eagles are taking a road trip to face off against the Purdue Polytechnic Techies at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Heritage Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.

If Heritage Christian beats Purdue Polytechnic with eight runs on Thursday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. The Eagles came out on top against Indianapolis Kings by a score of 8-5 on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with Indianapolis Kings: they've now won five in a row.

At the plate, Carson Wilhite was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Alex Jackson also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.

Heritage Christian lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Purdue Polytechnic came out on top against Purdue Broad Ripple on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive nine-run third inning. The Techies never let the Lynx get on the board and left with a 13-0 win. The Techies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by 13 runs or more this season.

Purdue Polytechnic pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for Heritage Christian, their record now sits at 5-2.

Everything went Heritage Christian's way against Purdue Polytechnic when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Heritage Christian made off with a 10-0 victory.
