Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg got a great performance from Aiden Sayers as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Carter Verdeyen, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt Wetherell, who scored a run while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.
Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sullivan struck out six times.
Meanwhile, the third road contest was the charm for Pana, as they earned their first away victory of the season. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 win over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City on Monday.
Carder Burris made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Burris was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0. As for Pana, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
Pana's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .325. It's a different story for Pana, though, as they've only averaged .150. Will they be able to contain Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg's hitters?
Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg skirted past Pana 3-2 in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
