Bureau Valley has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Princeville Princes at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Monday, Bureau Valley beat the Red Devils 60-50.
It was another big night for Kate Salisbury, who scored 24 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lynzie Cady, who scored six points along with five assists and two steals.
Meanwhile, Princeville came up short against the Braves on Wednesday and fell 67-57. While losing is never fun, Princeville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 226th, while the Braves are ranked 99th).
Bureau Valley's win bumped their record up to 13-11. As for Princeville, they dropped their record down to 14-11 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.
