If the Northwestern Trojans were feeling good off their 71-50 takedown of the York Cougars last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Northwestern took a 60-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of South Pointe on Friday. Northwestern was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as South Pointe apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Loss or not, Northwestern got some senior leadership from Theron Young and Sir Joseph. Young scored 12 points along with two steals, while Joseph. scored seven points along with three steals.
Northwestern's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-10. As for South Pointe, their win bumped their record up to 7-12.
Northwestern will head out on the road to challenge Catawba Ridge at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Catawba Ridge has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 949 points over their last 12 games. As for South Pointe, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against York at 7:45 p.m. York is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak.
