The University Hawks won the last time they faced the Metropolitan Learning Center Dragons, and things went their way on Thursday too. University came out on top in a nail-biter against Metropolitan Learning Center and snuck past 43-40. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points University has scored all year.
University got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kevin Murray Jr out in front who scored three points along with 11 rebounds and five blocks. Murray Jr hasn't dropped below two blocks for five straight games. Jakari Laing was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with three steals.
The victory makes it two in a row for University and bumps their season record up to 5-2. As for Metropolitan Learning Center, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
University will head out on the road to face off against Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Metropolitan Learning Center, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bulkeley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
