Thomas A. Edison has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the TECH Freire Charter Dragons at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Thomas A. Edison earned a 50-40 victory over the Hoyas.
Thomas A. Edison's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Andre Roberts, who scored 17 points along with two blocks. It was the first time this season that Roberts posted two or more blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Ernan Rivera, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
TECH Freire Charter was handed a two-point loss in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against the Dragons on Friday. TECH Freire Charter took their game at home with ease, bagging a 82-33 victory over the Dragons. The win was all the more spectacular given TECH Freire Charter's disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 397th in Pennsylvania, while the Dragons are ranked 60th in Delaware).
It was another big night for Markel Moran, who scored 27 points. Another player making a difference was Omar Leach, who scored 14 points.
Thomas A. Edison has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. As for TECH Freire Charter, their win bumped their record up to 14-5.
Thomas A. Edison couldn't quite finish off the Dragons in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 and fell 65-63. Thankfully for Thomas A. Edison, Makai Garnett (who scored 25 points) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
