Softball Recap: Monte Vista Christian's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pacific Grove, Monte Vista Christian was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 17-1 margin over the Pajaro Valley Grizzlies. Considering the Mustangs have won eight games by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Monte Vista Christian got a massive performance out of Ava Alvarado, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and one stolen base. Those four runs gave Alvarado a new career-high. Gianna Johnson was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Monte Vista Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .697. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Monte Vista Christian's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-14. As for Pajaro Valley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Monte Vista Christian will face off against Stevenson at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Mustangs are facing the Pirates at the right time seeing as the Pirates are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Pajaro Valley, they will square off against Santa Catalina at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
