Summer Creek is a perfect 10-0 against Humble since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Summer Creek Bulldogs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Humble Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. Summer Creek is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.
Summer Creek's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Goose Creek Memorial as Summer Creek made off with a 7-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.
The result came thanks to Alyssa Flores's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Elaina Bonuelos, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Torie Turner was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, Humble fell victim to King and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 9-0 to the Panthers. The Wildcats have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meetings.
Natalie Garcia spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and seven unearned) runs on five hits.
Summer Creek's win was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Humble, their loss dropped their record down to 4-13.
Humble's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Summer Creek hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .362. It's a different story for Humble, though, as they've only averaged .245. Will they be able to contain Summer Creek's hitters?
