The Servite Friars extended their postseason success on Friday against the Long Beach Poly Jackrabbits. They walked away with a 27-20 win over the Jackrabbits. The win made it back-to-back wins for Servite.
Among those leading the charge was Quaid Carr, who rushed for 119 yards and a touchdown. Carr has been hot recently, having posted 100 or more rushing yards the last five times he's played. Gavin Gutierrez also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Despite the loss, Long Beach Poly saw an underclassman step up: Kamarie Smith picked up 155 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Servite is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. As for Long Beach Poly, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-2.
Servite will head out on the road to face off against Serra at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Serra will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive. Long Beach Poly does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
