The Ganado Indians lost against the Flatonia Bulldogs back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Ganado took a hard 50-32 fall against Flatonia. While losing is never fun, Ganado can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1153rd, while Flatonia is ranked 266th).
When it comes to explaining why Ganado lost, one person who can't be blamed is Zoey Ybarra. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 12 points and 15 rebounds. Ybarra is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Isabel Tristan, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds.
Ganado now has a losing record at 9-10. As for Flatonia, the win was the 13th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-2.
Ganado and McMullen County will round out the year against one another at 9:00 a.m. on December 28th at. McMullen County is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. Flatonia won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Dime Box at 1:00 p.m. on December 20th. Dime Box is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
