The Council Cobras's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 85-31 loss at the hands of Patrick Henry. While losing is never fun, Council can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 443rd, while Patrick Henry is ranked 210th).
Leading Patrick Henry to victory were Cade Caywood and Cole Caywood. Caywood scored 16 points along with five assists and three steals, while Caywood scored 16 points along with two steals. Caywood has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Aidan Monahan, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Council's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Patrick Henry, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Council will challenge Twin Springs at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Patrick Henry won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Holston at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Holston is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home.
