In what's become a running theme this season, Kingman Academy gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. Everything went their way against St. John Paul II Catholic as Kingman Academy made off with a 10-2 win. The victory was just what Kingman Academy needed coming off of a 13-3 defeat in their prior game.
Cade Benson made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). Benson has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive pitching appearances. Benson was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Rilee Otto was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing seven bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Meanwhile, Bagdad put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their undefeated season alive. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Anthem Prep and snuck past 3-2.
The team relied heavily on Aaron Landers, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.
Kingman Academy now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Bagdad, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-0-1.
Kingman Academy came up short against Bagdad in their previous meeting back in April of 2021, falling 4-0. Thankfully for Kingman Academy, Connor Watson (who didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 13 over 6.2 innings pitched) won't be suiting up this time.
