Basketball Recap: Donnie Fairley and Jerry Sims Secure Win for Southeast Alamance

Southeast Alamance won the last time they faced Bartlett Yancey and things went their way on Friday too. Everything went the Southeast Alamance Stallions' way against the Bartlett Yancey Buccaneers as the Southeast Alamance Stallions made off with a 69-48 win. Given the Stallions' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while the Buccaneers are ranked 479th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Southeast Alamance to victory were Jerry Sims and Donnie Fairley. Sims went 7 of 15 on his way to 20 points and three steals, while Fairley went 5 of 11 on his way to 15 points and four steals. The game was Sims' eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cardell West, who posted 11 points and three steals.

Southeast Alamance's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.8 points per game. As for Bartlett Yancey, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

Southeast Alamance wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 56-43 win against Seaforth on the 7th. As for Bartlett Yancey, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 46-35 loss against Jordan-Matthews on the 8th.
