The Autauga Academy Generals suffered their closest loss since December 4, 2023 on Thursday. They fell just short of Hooper Academy by a score of 40-37. Autauga Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Hooper Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played last Friday.
Despite the defeat, Autauga Academy saw an underclassman step up: Teonna Davis scored 11 points along with six rebounds and three blocks. Davis is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Chloe Davis was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Autauga Academy's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 8-9. As for Hooper Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Edgewood Academy the next time they take the court. Hooper Academy will head out to face Edgewood Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Autauga Academy will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
