White River Valley is 1-8 against Sullivan since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The White River Valley Wolverines will head out on the road to square off against the Sullivan Golden Arrows at 7:30 p.m. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
After only 24 points in their last match, White River Valley made sure to put some points up on the board against Crothersville on Saturday. White River Valley blew past Crothersville 59-33. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory White River Valley has posted since November 28, 2023.
Meanwhile, Sullivan had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.6 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Saturday. They managed a 52-46 win over Vincennes Lincoln.
Sullivan's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cooper Bock led the charge by scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds and four blocks. Bock has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last four times he's played. Seth Pirtle was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
White River Valley's victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Sullivan, they pushed their record up to 12-3 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
White River Valley was taken down by Sullivan 72-38 when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Can White River Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
