Basketball Recap: Eno River Academy Snaps Six-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Eno River Academy entered their match against Roxboro Community on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Eno River Academy Bobcats took a 70-64 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Roxboro Community Bulldogs. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (55), the Bobcats still had to take the loss.

Despite the loss, Eno River Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Sammer Day posted 21 points and five boards. Those 21 points set a new season-high mark for Day. Another player making a difference was Dylan Davidson, who went 5 of 11 en route to 12 points.

Even though they lost, Eno River Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since the start of last season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Roxboro Community to victory, but perhaps none more so than John Little, who put up 21 points. Those 21 points gave Little a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Wheeler, who had 16 points.

Eno River Academy's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-4. As for Roxboro Community, they moved to 7-5 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Eno River Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 50-31 loss against Vance Charter on the 17th. As for Roxboro Community, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 54-48 win against Excelsior Classical Academy on the 17th.
