If the Discovery Spartans were feeling good off their 43-14 takedown of the Oasis Christian Lions last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Discovery was just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 42-41 to Ridgeview Global Studies Academy. If Discovery hoped to take revenge for the 23-18 loss against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
Ridgeview Global Studies Academy found their leader in underclassman Stephanie Morales, who scored 21 points along with four steals and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Morales posted two or more blocks.
Discovery bumped their record down to 2-8 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Ridgeview Global Studies Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 5-6.
Discovery will head out on the road to square off against Tenoroc at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Tenoroc comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Ridgeview Global Studies Academy, Ridgeview Global Studies Academy and Oasis Christian will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Oasis Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 29 on Friday.
