Holton extended the longest winning streak in Big Seven this week by beating Hayden, 27-0. This was the team's eighth consecutive win.
Nemaha Valley and Rock Creek played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Nemaha Valley eventually emerging with a 7-6 victory.
Perry-Lecompton's dynamic duo of Seth Surface and Riley Davis proved tough for Basehor-Linwood to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Surface threw for 148 yards and one touchdown and Davis had 86 yards receiving. Trevor Dark helped Perry-Lecompton's passing attack out by catching five balls for 39 yards.
Matthew Bailey was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 284 yards on 31 carries as Royal Valley fell to the Bobcats. Nehemiah Schuetz also contributed to the rushing game with 48 yards on the ground.
Perry-Lecompton's Surface and Davis have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Big Seven in both passing and receiving yards. Surface has thrown for 1023 yards this season, while Davis, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 32 catches for 466 yards. Holton's Drake Ewing leads the league in rushing yards with 819.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Sabetha takes on Hiawatha. The Bluejays are currently in fourth, while the Red Hawks are in third.
There should be lots of points scored when the Panthers and Brooks Barta's team face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Royal Valley comes in having scored 160 this season, while the Wildcats have scored 375. Jason Grider's team scored 26 points last week as it defeated Wamego.
The Panthers made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 8,190 from 9,185. The improvement came about via a 26-18 victory over the Red Raiders last week.
