Norborne/Hardin-Central have had a week off and are no doubt ready to get back on the field. They will look to defend their home turf on Friday against Braymer/Breckenridge at 7:00 PM. Coming off of a win even when the odds were against them, Norborne/Hardin-Central have to be feeling especially confident with the MaxPreps state rankings on their side for this one.
Their game three weeks ago wasn't at all kind to Norborne/Hardin-Central, but their most recent game may have softened the blow. They managed a somewhat close 28-22 win over North Shelby. No one put up better numbers for Norborne/Hardin-Central than junior Kysor Hughes, who brought his A game into the match. He rushed for 169 yards and 2 touchdowns. In fact, with 14 tackles Hughes was a force on both sides of the ball.
Meanwhile, there's no need to mince words: Braymer/Breckenridge lost to North Shelby last Friday, and they lost bad. The score wound up at 6-60. Braymer/Breckenridge were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 6-46.
Norborne/Hardin-Central's victory lifted them to 2-1 while Braymer/Breckenridge's defeat dropped them down to 0-4. We'll find out if Norborne/Hardin-Central can add another positive mark to their record or if Braymer/Breckenridge can shake off the loss and take the spring out of Norborne/Hardin-Central's step.
