Malcolm is a perfect 3-0 against Fairbury since March of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Clippers will head out to face off against the Jeffs. Malcolm will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
Malcolm is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Platteview with a sharp 21-11 victory on Tuesday. With that win, the Clippers brought their scoring average up to 8 runs per game.
Malcolm got a massive performance out of Brixon Meyer, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and three RBI. That's the most RBI Meyer has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Justin Wisnieski, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one double.
Malcolm was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Fairbury lost 17-4 to Lincoln Christian on Tuesday. The Jeffs haven't had much luck with the Crusaders recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Fairbury saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dakota Zimmerman, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI. Jamison Runge also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Malcolm's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Fairbury, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
Malcolm was able to grind out a solid victory over Fairbury in their previous matchup back in March of 2025, winning 7-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Clippers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
