Kingsbury is 0-10 against Overton since April of 2022 but things could change on Wednesday. The Falcons will square off against the Wolverines at 4:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Kingsbury barely beat Memphis East the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Falcons blew past the Mustangs 19-9 on Friday. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Christopher Woodruff and Deyber Lovera Marin did most of the damage at the plate: Woodruff got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI, while Lovera Marin got on base in four of his five plate appearances with five stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI. Lovera Marin is becoming a predictor of Kingsbury's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-1-1 (and 3-9 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Harris, who got on base in five of his six plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Kingsbury always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .739. They are 7-3-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Overton, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They put the hurt on KIPP Collegiate with a sharp 14-5 win on Tuesday. Considering the Wolverines have won ten games by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Jeremiah Haynes and Sammy Kehrli made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Haynes struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. Meanwhile, Kehrli pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those nine strikeouts gave Haynes a new career-high. At bat, Haynes went a perfect 2-for-2 with six stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Kehrli got on base in two of his four plate appearances with five stolen bases and one run. Haynes has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.
In other batting news, Tamarge Carey was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with seven stolen bases and three runs. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Nehemiah Diggs also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Overton has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Kingsbury, their record now sits at 7-10-1.
Wednesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Kingsbury has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .590. However, it's not like Overton struggles in that department as they've averaged .548. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Kingsbury might still be hurting after the 15-4 loss they got from Overton in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Can the Falcons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
