Baseball Recap: Bishop Rosecrans Takes a Loss

If Bishop Rosecrans was feeling good fresh off their 28-0 takedown of Liberty Christian Academy on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bishops fell 8-5 to the Fairfield Christian Academy Knights on Wednesday. The Bishops have struggled against the Knights recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meeting.

Jacobie Balo made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. He has become a key player for Bishop Rosecrans: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-2 otherwise.

Bishop Rosecrans' defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Fairfield Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 7-2 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bishop Rosecrans will head out to square off against Catholic Central at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bishops are facing the Crusaders at the right time seeing as the Crusaders are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Fairfield Christian Academy, they will venture away from home to face off against Hilliard Darby at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Knights 3.9, the Panthers 2.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
