Windsor has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Newington Nor'easters at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Windsor posted their biggest win yet this season on Saturday. They blew past Somers 64-43.
Meanwhile, Newington entered their tilt with RHAM with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. Newington really took it to RHAM for the full four quarters, racking up a 63-34 victory at home. Newington has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 20 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Newington to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bela Cucuta, who scored 19 points along with three blocks. Cucuta is absolutely dominating the point category: she's posted at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendall Miller, who scored 14 points along with five assists and three steals.
Windsor now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Newington, they pushed their record up to 11-2 with that victory, which was their 15th straight at home.
Windsor came up short against Newington when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 52-45. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Cucuta, who scored 30 points.
